Friday 5 for March 27: Memory

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Friday 5! Please copy these questions to your webspace. Answer the questions there; then leave a comment below so we’ll all know where to check out your responses. Please don’t forget to link us from your website!

Sorry for the extreme tardiness. As some of you know, I’m sorta walking my mother through dementia and this week was difficult. She seems to be back to some semblance of what normal has become, which is peaceful and a blessing. But yikes I’m still recovering from more than one night of no sleep. And as you probably know, my home state has been dealing with a lot these past two weeks! Ouch.

This is not to make excuses, but rather to encourage you to love your loved ones a little extra hard this weekend if you can.

I was going to make five questions inspired by “Memory” from Cats but everything I could come up with was overly poetic or just too dang depressing!

  1. What are some mnemonics you remember from your school days?
  2. Have you invented any unique mnemonics for your own daily life?
  3. What’s a very nice memory you’ve made in the last month?
  4. From this month, what would you really like not to remember?
  5. What are some good songs about remembrance, memory, not forgetting, or nostalgia?

Thank you for participating, and I’m so sorry again for the tardiness!

At times dementia can very very challenging for the carer. My once husband changed into a complete different person, more busy keeping up some kind of normalcy for himself, than caring for others. His moods, and all sorts of behaviour to hide his growing amount of shortcomings….. I lost all social contacts, and a lot more.

    I wish you well.
