Your browser’s address bar, beginning right now, is finally displaying the little lock icon on this site. For this, a personal website, the security certificate was free through my web host, and registering it was a matter of clicking a couple of buttons. I haven’t done it because I’ve been running an outdated version of PHP and I’ve been too lazy to bring it current, even though this is also quite easy.
It made me think of one of my favorite Latin phrases, for some reason.

- Perhaps it is true that in wine, there is truth, but where else is truth?

I see the lock — congrats! A condition of my free hosting is that I make sure the site is secure. Renewing the certificate every year and getting the files correct and installed is such a pain.
