Friday 5 for February 18: You are known

Aloha Tower

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Friday 5! Please copy these questions to your webspace. Answer the questions there; then leave a comment below so we’ll all know where to check out your responses. Please don’t forget to link us from your website!

A regular feature on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert is a fun set of questions called the Colbert Questionert, the answers to which, the host claims, reveal who a person truly is. Search YouTube for “colbert questionert” and you’ll find a bunch of fun interviews, like this one with Meryl Streep.

Although many of the questions have appeared multiple times in memes through the years, it’ll be fun to answer them in this arrangement. Conveniently, there are (supposedly) fifteen questions, so they break up evenly for our purposes. Here are the final 5(ish)!

I apologize for last week’s sloppiness. The repeat question wasn’t a repeat—it was my not typing “least favorite smell” instead of “favorite smell.” I was out for a late night walk when I realized I hadn’t yet posted the week’s questions, so I was typing them as I walked. I checked my work multiple times, too! I kept screwing up the link to the Tom Hanks video. Yet I still missed that word least and I misspelled Friday!

I am again out late walking, but I’m taking a breather at the base of Aloha Tower, so I can focus only on completing this task carefully. I’ll probably still mess it up!

I’m adding last week’s messed-up question to this week’s questions.

Bonus complication: I count six remaining questions, not five! I’m wondering if the two smell questions are part of the same question, but sometimes Colbert doesn’t ask the least favorite one. It’s a mystery!

  1. What is your least favorite smell?
  2. Cats or dogs?
  3. You only get one song to listen to for the rest of your life. What is it?
  4. What number is Stephen Colbert thinking of?
  5. Flat or sparkling?
  6. What is the most-used app on your phone?
  7. Describe the rest of your life in five words.

Thanks for participating! Have a wonderful, safe weekend! I hope when I die I get to keep reading your responses to other weekly memes!
